For Lumen, CenturyLink and Level 3 voice customers

Lumen stopped selling voice. Your PBX does not have to change.

On August 1, 2026 Lumen ended new sales and renewals of SIP trunking, Voice Complete and hosted voice. Existing service runs to term, then month-to-month. The replacement is a SIP trunk from a carrier that only does voice: $0.010 per minute outbound, $0.009 inbound, $0 per channel, no contract, TLS and SRTP on every leg, and we run the port schedule.

How the move works

  1. Find your term date. Your Lumen contract keeps working until term; then it rolls to month-to-month with no renewal path. The date on the contract is your deadline, not Lumen’s.
  2. Get a test trunk here. A SIP engineer provisions a trunk to your existing PBX or SBC, IP-authenticated or registered, TLS 5061 with SRTP or plain 5060. Test calls the same day.
  3. Port the numbers. Send us the number list and a Lumen invoice; we submit the ports and schedule them by site. Local numbers typically complete in 7–14 business days, toll-free in 5–10. Lumen keeps carrying each number until its port date.
  4. Cut over, then cancel. Outbound moves to the new trunk whenever you choose; inbound moves number by number as ports complete. Cancel Lumen after the last port, not before.

Your PBX, SBC, dial plan and phones stay. The only configuration change is the trunk: host, authentication, and TLS if you want it.

An engineer, not a sales queue, calls back within one business day; usually within the hour during US business hours. No card, no contract.
